In September of last year my honey and I were most fortunate to travel to Peru to celebrate our good friends' twentieth wedding anniversary, having been there on their wedding day it was extra sweet to be there with them on this trip.
We spent a few days in Lima before we headed off to Cusco and the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. With all there is to browse before one goes anywhere these days I was quite prepared to be underwhelmed by Machu Picchu. How happy I am to say no such thing occurred. The genius of Inca architecture is still evident and I dare say even more impressive five hundred years after the fact. No wheel, no pullies, no steel tools capable of working stone, quite frankly it boggles the mind how they made it all come together. We had an amazing trip. The people of Peru were wonderful, the scenery was terrific and the food and drink was excellent.
I hope you enjoy the photos.
